Nope, Texans, I didn’t mean to say “in the country” and blog about a new flavor of Blue Bell. I wanted to put up a quick pic for what has got to be my new favorite kitchen appliance – my little lime green, $50 Cuisinart ice cream maker. We keep the bowl frozen and on hand at all times in case the mood for ice cream strikes us – for a girl that grew up on the Gold Rim from Brenham, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but this machine makes the best ice cream ever. EVER.
Yesterday I caught organic strawberries on sale at the good ‘ol HEB for $1.97 and they needed a home. The address? Somewhere macerated in sugar and lemon juice for a couple of hours. After, toss with two cups of cream, some milk, and sugar. Dump in machine, set it, and forget it. Heaven. Enjoy!
