This one’s for Marie…

Antoinette that is!  Today we held the first (and last!) beheading in Casita Harmon…of my fresh from Seattle, baby octopus.  I can honestly say that this is one of those experiences to mark off my life’s list as “done,” followed by “never again.”  Below is the step by step of the neck that just wouldn’t break…

After 3 chops....we have a head!  Tough little booger to cut!

And with that, we plunged our gooey tentacles in cold water, and bagged the remains to grill tomorrow!  Going to keep the seasonings simple – salt and pepper – and accessorize with 3 sauces – sweet chili, BBQ (since it IS being grilled), and a seafood staple, drawn lemon butter.  The results tomorrow as I hit the grill on the solo!
